Paying in to your eccount

There are a number of ways to pay in to your eccount. Whether you wish to pay in cash or cheques, receive bank transfers from friends and relatives, or have you wages, salary or any benefits paid in to your eccount, it couldn’t be simpler.

Salary and Wages

Use your eccount as an alternative to a basic bank account. You can have your wages or salary paid directly to your eccount. It may take 3-5 days from when your employer sends the funds. It is FREE to have your wages and any benefits paid in.

Simply hand the following details to your employer and ask them to pay your wages to the following details:

Account number:                             (this is supplied when you apply)

Payment reference:                       (this is your eccount number)

Payment reference must be included exactly as displayed. Failure may result in delayed allocation of payment.

Benefits payments

You can have your benefits payments paid directly into your eccount. Simply hand your eccount details to the relevant agency and they will make your payments directly to your eccount. You will need to use the following details:

You will also need to inform eccount banking of your payment reference (usually your National Insurance number) so that we can allocate your credit and to ensure there is no delay in you receiving your funds. To inform us of your reference, please call the customer care team on 0845 872 0826.

Paying in cash

Cash can be paid in to your eccount over the counter at any PayPoint location or Post Office branch. Simply take your eccount banking prepaid MasterCard along and hand it over to the cashier with your cash.

– Pay in cash at over 23,000 convenient locations nationwide. Cash paid in at PayPoint locations will be available in your eccount the very same day. There is a charge for this service.

– Pay in cash at any Post Office branch in the UK. No forms to fill in, simply take your card and your cash to any Post Office counter. Cash paid in at Post Office branches will be available in your eccount within 3 working days. There is a charge for this service.

Cheque cashing service

You can cash cheques and have them paid directly onto your eccount quickly and easily. Simply follow the instructions below:

  • Complete the cheque cashing form – available to print here
  • It is essential that you always include your 9 digit eccount number on the reverse of your cheque
    • The Cheque Deposit Slip must be completed and signed to ensure your cheque is processed correctly
    • Cheques must be payable to the primary eccount holder only
    • Cheques take 10 days to clear
    • Cash cheques or endorsed cheques cannot be accepted
    • Cheques under £20 incur a cheque processing fee of £10
    • The maximum cheque amount we can accept is £3,000
    • The cheque cashing service is subject to our fraud and regulatory checks. You may be asked to provide further information before cheques are cashed
